Dear Valued PVOP Volunteers.
We are pleased to inform you that MERCY has confirmed to deploy FOUR (4) PVOP volunteers to Pariaman, Padang, West Sumatra. The volunteers will be deployed as Logistics Volunteers responsible in packing and distributing hygiene kits to the beneficiaries in the area. Hence, this is an opportunity for you to be part of the humanitarian relief effort. The following are details of the mission for your kind reference:
Departure date : Saturday, 17 October 2009 (from KL, time tbc)
Return date : Friday, 23 October 2009 (arrival in KL, time tbc)
Period of deployment : 1 week
Responsibility : Pack and distribute 3000 hygiene kits to the beneficiaries in Pariaman
Accommodation : To be confirmed and arranged by MERCY
And please also note the following criteria for deployment:
1. Participation is open to ALL members but priority will be given to volunteers who have attended the Basic Mission Training (BMT) and the Volunteer Induction Programme (VIP).
2. Deployment will also be subjected to your superiors’ approval. The mission will be departing from Kuala Lumpur. Therefore you will be required here for a briefing prior to departure.
3. Passports should still be valid (more than 6 months before due date).
4. Volunteers should be resilient physically and mentally to undertake challenges in harsh living conditions.
